Before Your Course

You’re booked — here’s everything you need to know to get the most from your training day.

1. Complete your e-learning

You’ll receive your e-learning login once your payment (or first instalment) is received. All required modules must be completed before your practical day. If they aren’t, you won’t be able to attend and no refund or transfer will be offered.

Your login is for you only and must not be shared. You’ll need a reliable internet connection and a suitable device.

2. Pay any outstanding balance

If you chose split payment, the balance is due no later than 7 days before your practical day. If it’s not paid, your e-learning access and course place will be cancelled.

3. Arrive on time

Please arrive 10–15 minutes before the start time. Because of course timings and safety, learners arriving more than 30 minutes late to a full-day course (15 minutes for courses under 4 hours) may be refused entry, with no refund or transfer. If you’re running late, call the number in your booking confirmation.

4. What to wear

  • Comfortable, breathable clothing you can kneel, lie down and move in
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Minimal jewellery
  • Long hair tied back

5. What to bring

Just a pen and notepad. All equipment is provided. We use high-quality simulation equipment and live training materials where possible.

6. Food and drink

Bring a water bottle. Lunch is included on A-PHIST courses. For all other courses, please bring your own lunch. Tell us about any dietary requirements when you book.

7. Extra support

If you need reasonable adjustments — extra time, adapted materials, an interpreter or physical adjustments — please tell us in writing as early as possible so we can arrange it.

8. Fitness to take part

Practical sessions involve kneeling, CPR and moving casualties. You’re responsible for making sure you’re fit to take part safely. If you have an injury, are pregnant or have any concerns, let us know before the course so we can adapt where possible.

9. Assessment and certificates

You’ll be assessed during the course. To receive your certificate you must:

  1. complete the e-learning
  2. pass the practical assessments
  3. complete the course feedback form

If you don’t pass, your trainer will give you feedback and you can reassess on the day or at a later date. Learners who need extra support may be asked to attend further training before reassessing.

10. Conduct

We want a safe, supportive learning environment. Anyone whose behaviour is unsafe, disruptive or inappropriate may be asked to leave, with no refund or transfer.
