General Terms
These terms apply to all bookings.
1. About us
These terms apply to all training provided by Dragon Medical Ltd (company number 15558891), 3 Heol y Pentre, Pentyrch, Cardiff CF15 9QD. Contact: info@dragonmedical.uk · 07300 027542.
2. Which terms apply to you
- Section A applies if you book and pay as an individual.
- Section B applies if an organisation (employer, club, school or other body) books and pays for training.
- These General Terms apply to both. If there’s a conflict, Section A or B takes priority.
3. Communication
All cancellation, transfer and booking change requests must be made in writing by email to info@dragonmedical.uk so there is an accurate record.
4. Certification
Certificates are issued only after successful completion of the course, any required e-learning and assessments, and the course feedback form. Attendance alone does not guarantee certification. Dragon Medical may withhold certification where the required standard is not met.
5. Fitness to attend
Learners are responsible for making sure they are physically and mentally fit to take part safely in practical training. Learners should tell us before the course about any condition, injury or pregnancy that may affect their participation so we can make reasonable adjustments.
6. Reasonable adjustments
We will make reasonable adjustments for learners with additional needs where we are told in advance and in writing.
7. Learner conduct
We may remove any learner whose behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, aggressive, discriminatory or inappropriate, or who negatively affects others’ learning. No refund or transfer will be given in these circumstances.
8. Intellectual property
All course materials, e-learning content, videos, presentations and resources remain the intellectual property of Dragon Medical. They must not be copied, downloaded, screen-recorded, photographed, distributed, shared or used commercially without our written permission.
9. Photography and filming
We may take photos or video during courses for training and marketing. We will ask for your consent before using any image in which you can be identified, and you can decline.
10. Technical requirements
Learners are responsible for having suitable internet access, devices and software for online learning. We are not responsible for problems caused by personal equipment or connectivity.
11. Events outside our control
We are not liable for delays, cancellations or disruption caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, illness, transport disruption, industrial action, venue closures or technical failures. If we cannot run a course for these reasons, we will offer an alternative date or a refund for the training not delivered.
12. Our liability
We are not responsible for travel, accommodation, loss of earnings or other indirect costs if a course is changed or cancelled. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
13. Refunds
Where a refund is due, it will be made to the original payment method within 14 days.
14. Your data
We use your personal information to manage your booking, issue certificates and keep training records, as set out in our Privacy Policy. We keep booking, payment and certification records for 6 years after your course, then securely delete them.
15. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with any part of our service, email info@dragonmedical.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 20 working days.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Section A: Public Courses – Individuals
A1. Booking
Your place is confirmed once payment is received. You’ll receive a booking confirmation email and your e-learning login before the practical day.
A2. Split payments
On selected courses, including A-PHIST, you may pay in two parts:
- The first payment secures your place and gives you access to the e-learning.
- The balance must be paid no later than 7 days before the practical day.
If the balance is not paid by then, we will remove your e-learning access and cancel your place. Payments already made will not be refunded, except where required by law (see A3).
A3. Your 14-day cooling-off right
If you book online or by phone, you can cancel within 14 days of booking for a refund.
- If your course starts within those 14 days, you can ask us to start the service early. If you then cancel, we may deduct a fair amount for training already provided.
- E-learning: when you book, you’ll be asked to agree to immediate access to the e-learning. Once you access it, you lose the right to cancel the e-learning element, and 50% of the course fee (the value of the e-learning) will be deducted from any cooling-off refund.
A4. Transfers – 7 days or more before the practical day
If you tell us by email at least 7 days before your practical day, you can transfer to another available date. A £9.99 admin fee applies. Each booking can be transferred once only, unless we agree otherwise.
A5. Cancellations – less than 7 days before the practical day
Cancellations or transfer requests made less than 7 days before the course are non-refundable. We may still offer a transfer at our discretion, depending on circumstances and availability (£9.99 admin fee).
A6. Sickness or medical emergency
If you can’t attend because of illness or a medical emergency within 24 hours of the course, email us as soon as possible. With reasonable evidence, we may offer a transfer to another date (£9.99 admin fee). This is offered once per booking.
A7. No-shows
If you don’t attend and haven’t told us beforehand, no refund, transfer or credit will be given, and your e-learning access will be removed.
A8. Late arrival
We may refuse entry to learners arriving more than 30 minutes after the start of a full-day course, or more than 15 minutes after the start of a course under 4 hours. No refund or transfer will be given. If you’re delayed, call the number in your booking confirmation.
A9. E-learning
- Access is given once full payment or the first instalment is received.
- Access is for the registered learner only and must not be shared.
- All required modules must be completed before the practical day. If not, you will not be able to attend and no refund or transfer will be given.
- We may remove access if a balance is unpaid, these terms are breached, content is misused, or you don’t attend.
A10. If we cancel or change a course
We may cancel or reschedule a course because of trainer illness, venue problems, low numbers or other operational reasons. If we do, you can choose an alternative date or a full refund of what you have paid.
A11. Your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Section B: In-House & Group Training – Organisations
In this section, “the Client” means the organisation booking and paying for the training.
B1. Quotes
Quotes are valid for 30 days. A booking is confirmed when the Client accepts the quote in writing and pays the deposit.
B2. Payment
- A deposit of 50% of the quoted fee is due on acceptance to hold the date.
- The balance is invoiced before the course and is due within 30 days of the invoice date.
- Certificates may be held until the invoice is paid in full.
- We may charge interest on late payments under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
B3. Numbers and substitutions
- The quote states the maximum number of learners per trainer. We may refuse extra learners above that number for safety reasons.
- The Client pays for the number of places booked, even if fewer learners attend.
- The Client may substitute a learner at no charge by giving us the new learner’s name and email at least 48 hours before the course.
- Learner names and emails must be provided at least 7 days before the course so e-learning can be issued.
B4. Cancellation or postponement by the Client
| Notice given before the course date | Charge |
|---|---|
| 28 days or more | Free postponement; deposit kept as credit for 12 months |
| 14–27 days | 50% of the course fee |
| Less than 14 days | 100% of the course fee |
B5. Venue (on-site training)
The Client must provide a safe, clean room with enough floor space for practical work, tables and chairs, toilets, drinking water, and parking or loading access. If the venue is unsafe or unsuitable and the course can’t go ahead, the full fee remains payable.
B6. Travel
The quote includes travel within 30 miles of Cardiff. Beyond that, mileage is charged at 45p per mile for the return journey. Where an overnight stay is needed, accommodation is charged at cost and agreed in the quote.
B7. Learners
The Client is responsible for ensuring its learners are fit to take part, complete the e-learning before the course, and arrive on time. Learners who don’t meet these requirements, or who are removed for conduct (General Terms 7), still count as paid places.
B8. Records and results
We will give the Client a training record showing attendance and certification outcome for each learner. By booking, the Client confirms it has told its learners that this information will be shared with it.
B9. If we cancel or change a course
If we have to cancel, we will offer an alternative date or refund all fees paid for the training not delivered.
B10. Limit of liability
Our total liability to the Client is limited to the fees paid for the course concerned, except where the law does not allow this to be limited.
